Labradorite Necklace | Bee & Stag Coin
Recycled silver coin talisman cast directly from an ancient Greek artefact dating from c. 390-325 BCE.

The prosperous ancient city of Ephesus adopted the bee as the design for this enigmatic coin, home to the temple of Artemis, the Greek goddess of wilderness, wild animals and the moon. The priestesses of the temple were known as 'melissae' (honey bees).

The obverse (front) inscription ΕΦ[ΕΣΙΩΝ] translates to 'coin of the Ephesians' (either side of the Bee). The reverse of the coin depicts a leaping stag in motion.

The necklace measures 17 inches, made with natural labradorite gem stone beads in varying in shades with blue green flashes.
